Couples Counselling

For the version of you two that got buried under logistics, old arguments, and too much going unsaid

You probably didn't end up here because things are terrible. More likely, things are just harder than they used to be. The same disagreement keeps resurfacing in slightly different clothes. Conversations turn into arguments faster than either of you would like. Or maybe it's quieter than conflict — a kind of distance that's crept in, where you're living parallel lives more than a shared one.

You might be wondering if this is normal, or if it means something is actually wrong. You might have already tried to talk it out, more than once, and ended up back in the same place. One or both of you might be exhausted by the effort of trying to fix it alone.

None of that means the relationship is broken beyond repair. It usually means the patterns you've fallen into were never given a real chance to be understood — by either of you, together, with some outside support.

What Couples Therapy Looks Like Here

We're not in the business of deciding who's right. We're interested in the pattern underneath the argument — the thing that keeps happening regardless of what the fight is technically about.

That work often includes:

  • EFT-informed approaches (Emotionally Focused Therapy), which look at the attachment needs underneath conflict — what each of you is actually reaching for, even when it comes out as criticism or withdrawal

  • Helping both people feel heard in the room, not just the one who's better at articulating things in the moment

  • Slowing down recurring arguments enough to see the cycle, instead of just living inside it

  • Making space for the history each of you brought into the relationship — because old wounds often show up disguised as new arguments

  • Practical communication tools, alongside the deeper relational work — both matter

Who We Work With

We support couples at every stage, including those who:

  • Are in active, frequent conflict and want it to stop escalating

  • Have drifted into distance or disconnection without a dramatic cause

  • Are navigating a specific rupture — an affair, a betrayal of trust, a major life transition

  • Are parenting together and finding that strain has changed the relationship

  • Want to strengthen something that's already good, not just repair something broken

We work with relationships of all structures and configurations, and we're affirming of all sexual and gender diversities.
