Meet Malorie
Malorie has completed the academic and coursework requirements for her Master of Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University and has joined the 3 Rivers Team as an intern therapist. She brings a warm, calm, and curious approach to counselling with children ages 10 and up, teens, and adults. Her background in education and support work has given her a deep appreciation for the many different ways people communicate, learn, connect, and experience the world. She understands that sometimes the strategies that seem to work for others simply do not fit—and that feeling misunderstood can make it even harder to know what you need.
Malorie takes a client-centred, strengths-based, and neurodiversity-affirming approach to counselling. Rather than expecting clients to adapt to a particular way of doing therapy, Malorie adapts her approach to the individual. With children and younger teens, she may incorporate creativity, play, and movement to support connection and communication. With teens and adults, she creates space to make sense of what is happening, build self-understanding, and develop practical strategies that fit everyday life.
Malorie’s experience supporting children, youth, and adults with diverse developmental, communication, sensory, and learning needs has shaped her patient and attentive approach. She takes time to understand what is underneath the challenge, notice what is already working, and build from each client’s strengths.
Malorie offers in-person and virtual counselling in New Brunswick, with low-cost appointment options available.
